Pari is totally different from your tradition overly make-up women ghost, less skin and cringeworthy overacting. The film proved that bollywood too can create an amazing horror movie which make sense. The movie has awesome background score with amazing spooky scenes that can kick the old tradition horror movies.
The story of Pari starts with introducing an introvert Arunabh (Parambrata Chatterjee) who meets with his type of girl Piyali (Ritabhari Chakraborty) in an arranged marriage type of setup. After some interesting turn, Arunabh meets another women Rukhsana (Anushka Sharma) who is chained in a very dark abondoned house. She is some kind of Supernatural but whether she is evil or not is mystery and you have to sit tight till the last scene. Then enters another character, Profressor Khasim ali (Rajat Kapoor). Rajat Kapoor played the most complicated character in this movie.
The entrance of Rukhsana in Arunabh’s life changed the whole life of Arunabh and Piyali. Rukhsana has a very dark back story which Roy decided to unfold bit by bit till the end of the movie. Who is the professor, and why he wanted to know about Rukhsana and many other question remain unanswered till the end of the movie.
Seeing Anushka Sharma in such character send chilled in our spines while watching her in completely different avatar. She is beautiful as well as horrific in the movie. On the other hand Parambrata Chatterjee does great job with the character and exactly deliver the way director wanted.
Rajat Kapoor again did justice with his character, from the start of his character till the end he proved why he is know to be a legend. His one eyed look almost disgust many of the audience in the theatre.
I sincerely want you to go and watch the movie in theatre, you will enjoy some really new things in the history of bollywood horror genre.
